What is sun burst?

Sun bursts are sudden and intense releases of energy from the surface of the sun. They are also known as solar flares or coronal mass ejections (CMEs). Sun bursts can emit radiation across the electromagnetic spectrum, including X-rays and radio waves.

Sun bursts occur when magnetic energy built up in the sun's atmosphere is suddenly released. This can cause a burst of charged particles, known as plasma, to shoot out from the sun. When these particles reach Earth's magnetic field, they can interact with it, causing magnetic storms and disruptions to communication systems.

Sun bursts are classified in terms of their strength, with X-class being the strongest and most dangerous to our planet. While sun bursts can pose a threat to our communication systems and even cause power outages, they also have positive effects on our planet. The energetic particles released during a sun burst can interact with our planet's atmosphere, creating beautiful auroras in the night sky.
